Packing
Ammonium hydroxide is supplied in 200L plastic drum or IBC or ISO tank.
Storage and handling
Storaged in a tightly closed container. Protect from physical damage.Placed in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from sources of heat, moisture and incompatibilities. Releases toxic sulfur dioxide gas when in contact with water, ice. Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty since they retain product residues(dust, solids); observe all warnings and precautions listed for the product.
First aid measures
Inhalation: Remove to flash air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician immediately.
Ingestion: If swallowed, Do Not Induce Vomiting. Give large quantities of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin Contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes meanwhile removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician immediately. Wash clothing before reuse.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with gentle but large stream of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper eyelids occasionally. Call a physician immediately.Immediate action is critical to minimize possibility of blindness.
Accidental Release Measures
Ventilate area of leak or spill.Keep unnecessary and unprotected people away from area of spill. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Contain and recover liquid when possible. Do not flush caustic residues to the sewer. Residues from spills can be diluted with water, neutralized with diluted acid such as acetic, hydrochloric or sulfuric can cause a lot of pollution.
Application
Ammonia can neutralize fabric color caused by acid, make the recovery of primary colors; With synthetic detergent synergy, can remove perspiration, food stains stains and proteins have certain effect; Can accelerate the reaction of hydrogen peroxide; Also can remove some ink blot, dyeing and medicine stains, etc. Ammonia is one of the most important alkali scouring agent. Can be used to deal with discoloration caused by acid. Remove sweat yellow stains. Remove the mildew.
Physiological properties
Ammonium hydroxide can cause anaphylactic reaction: rat oral: 350mg / kg; eye, rabbit, standard Draize, 250ug; In severe, investigated as a mutagen, action to the eyes, prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause slight irritation. Ingesting of large quantities may cause irritation to the nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract.
PROPERTIES
Molecular mass 35.04
Stability and Reactivity
Stability: Stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Burning may produce ammonia, nitrogen oxides.
Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur.
Incompatibilities: Acids, acrolein, dimethyl sulfate, halogens, sliver nitrate, propylene oxide, nitromethane, silver oxide, silver permanganate, oleum, beta-propiolactone, most common metals.
